A little knowledge. A better bet.
Practical guides to the tools and the decisions behind them.
Start with what you use.

01 / START HEREStart with your books and your budget
Choose the sportsbooks you actually use. Record your current cash balance at each book as a deposit in the tracker. Start with an amount you can afford to lose, and keep money for living expenses separate. Your selected state is context, not a guarantee of platform or promotion eligibility.
02 / BONUS BETTINGConvert a bonus bet
A $200 bonus at +250 returns $500 in winnings if it wins, when the bonus stake is not returned. Hedging the opposite outcome at -300 requires $375 cash. Under normal matching win/loss settlement, the net result is $125 either way. Check eligible markets, expiry, minimum odds, whether the stake is returned, and any further wagering requirement.
03 / THE SCANNERRead arbitrage and low hold correctly
Arbitrage exists mathematically when the implied probabilities across all exhaustive outcomes sum to less than 100%. A low-hold pair can still cost money. Different lines, periods, void rules or hockey overtime treatment can invalidate a pair. Confirm both accepted stakes and prices; a quote on our screen is not an accepted ticket.
04 / EXPECTED VALUEUnderstand what +EV estimates mean
BookNemesis removes the overround from paired reference prices, then takes the median probability from at least three other sportsbooks at the same line. That is a market-derived estimate, not independent proof of the true chance. Reference books may share pricing inputs. Positive expected value does not imply a particular bet will win.
05 / PICK’EMTreat pick’em entries separately
A more favorable line is a useful research clue. It does not establish the value of a multi-pick entry. Review the exact entry type, payout table, special multipliers, tie and DNP rules, and correlations between picks. Our beta compares lines and publishes human-reviewed entries; it does not calculate automated entry EV.
06 / TRACKINGKeep a record you can trust
Log every leg, including losses. Use a shared group name for hedges, but settle each ticket separately. Deposits are cash movements, not profit. A bonus loss does not subtract its face value from cash. If a book reissues a voided bonus, record the replacement only when you use it.
